Objective : The purpose of this syudy is to analyze the origin and the characteristics of the Artemisiae capillaris Herba.

Method : To achieve the purpose of this study, bibliographies about Artemisiae capillaris Herba were examined. The examination was focused on the origin. Standing on this analysis the list and characteristics of the origin were presented.

Results :

1. The origin of Artemisiae capillaris Herba is the whole plant of Artemisia capillaris Thunberg.

2. In china, Artemisiae scoparia Waldst. et Kit. is also the origin.

3. It is necessary to use with caution as the whole plant of Artemisia iwayomogi Kitamura is not the original Plant.

Conclusions : The origin of Artemisiae capillaris Herba is the whole plant of Artemisia capillaris Thunberg.
