Abstract

Objective : The purpose of this study is to analyze the origin plants and the characteristics of the origin-plants of Chok-Chil.

Method : To achieve the purpose of this study, bibliographies about Chok-Chil were examined. The examination was focused on the origin. Standing on this analysis the list and characteristics of the origin plants were presented.

Results :

1. Chok-Chil(蜀漆) is the twig and leaf of Saxifragaceae Dichroa febrifuga Lour.

2. Sang-San(常山) is the root of Saxifragaceae Dichroa febrifuga  Lour.

3. Chok-chil is toxic, and the effects are to make expectoration easy and to prevent further attack of malaria.

Conclusions : Chok-Chil(蜀漆) is the twig and leaf of Saxifragaceae Dichroa febrifuga Lour.
